Piano Duo K&K

Twin sisters Kanon and Kotone Yokoyama were born in Kyoto, Japan. In 2021, they successfully completed their bachelor’s degrees in solo piano at the Doshisha Women’s College of Liberal Arts in Kyoto. Since 2019, they have also performed as a piano duo, winning numerous awards—including first prize in the "Piano Four-Hands" category at the 1st International Johann Wilhelm Wilms Piano Competition in 2022, and two first prizes (in the "Two Pianos" and "Piano Four-Hands" categories) at the 32nd Roma International Piano Competition in 2023. In 2025, they received the Bruno Frey Prize in Ochsenhausen. In 2026, they were awarded the Hindemith Prize at the International Competition for "Verfemte Musik" (Music Banned by the Nazis). At the 4th Paul Badura-Skoda International Piano Competition in Vienna (2026), the duo won first prize in the four-hands category; this honor includes a debut concert at the Mozarthaus Vienna on October 18, 2026. Their debut CD, *Allegro Brillante*, was released in 2024 on the KNS Classical label. They perform regularly in concert, with appearances including the 19th Johann Wilhelm Wilms Baptism Day Concert in Witzhelden (2023), a benefit concert for the Lions Club Stuttgart (2023), the "Rising Stars am neuen Flügel" series in Müllheim (2025), and performances in Marbach (Schiller’s birthplace, 2025). In July 2026, they performed Carl Czerny’s Concerto in C Major for Piano Four-Hands and Orchestra with the Stuttgart Philharmonic. Since 2021, they have been studying under Professor Hans-Peter Stenzl at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. In 2024, they completed their master's degree with distinction and have since continued their studies in the concert soloist program.

They were recipients of the Deutschlandstipendium and have been scholarship holders of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now since 2025.
